6th, 7th, and 8th graders participated in an event on March 27th and 28th called the L.I.G.H.T. retreat, which stands for leader, integrity, grateful, hardworking, teammate. This is the second annual L.I.G.H.T. retreat at Warroad High School paid for and sponsored by the MAX foundation. This year's L.I.G.H.T. retreat, which is put on on by the Character Challenge Course out of Park Rapids, had the theme B.E.L.O.N.G. The activities focused on Believe, Encourage, Live, Overcome, Navigate and Grit. After students completed fun activities, they reflected on the character qualities of be the L.I.G.H.T. and we all B.E.L.O.N.G. The L.I.G.H.T. retreat would not be possible without Warroad High School student leaders from student council, national honor society and team epic who participated in a training program before the 6th, 7th and 8th graders arrived, and then led middle school students through the activities. Hip hop singer and dancer Ron Wilson (aka Kaboose) and his sidekick Nate also entertained and shared their story with students on the 28th.

Every day, 70+ children are diagnosed with a critical illness and count on donors like us to help make their wish come true.
When a wish is granted, a child replaces fear with confidence, sadness with joy and anxiety with hope. The majority of wish kids go on to beat their critical illnesses, and research shows that a wish can help children build the physical and emotional strength they need to fight – giving them a better chance of surviving and thriving. The Warroad High School Student Council needs your help! We are raising money for Make a Wish Minnesota and our goal is $3000.00.
Donations can be dropped off at the high school office or made online at https://secure2.wish.org/site/TR/WishYourWay/Make-A-WishMinnesota?px=10117523&pg=personal&fr_id=5613.
