Next week Tuesday, Nov. 28th the "Smokie Hill" drum singers with be visiting Warroad School to perform traditional drum singing presentations for all of our students and staff. We welcome all community members as well to this wonderful performance to help us close out celebrating Native American Heritage month here at Warroad School.

Throughout the school year, elementary students learn about the 7 Grandfather Teachings, and earlier this month kindergarten invited Shawna Grapentine in to share more about this month's teaching on respect. All students are hearing about respect during morning meeting this week!

We had so much fun celebrating Red Ribbon Week at Warroad Elementary - pajama day, Halloween, wear red, crazy socks & hats, and Warrior Pride. Thanks Team EPIC for hosting a great week!










3rd grade wrapped up their learning about the life cycle, animals, and habitats with these great projects that are a fun mix of life science, read & writing, and being creative!









How fun is this?!? Elementary Principal Mrs. Comstock visited Ms. Casperson's kindergarten class today for a little Halloween fun. Mrs. Comstock read them the story "Pumpkin Magic" and helped make pumpkin suncatchers!

Yesterday our elementary teachers got to take their turn being students for the day as they participated in some on-site PD related to our exciting new ELA curriculum. Thanks to Mrs. Fish, Mrs. Lund, Mrs. Schaum, Mrs. Furuseth, and Mrs. Vollmer for opening up their classrooms and sharing their students and the hard work they've been putting in!

WPS Book Fair is Next Week!!

As a reminder, Warroad Schools will operate with a 1:00 PM early dismissal tomorrow, Friday, September 29, 2023. Kid Kare will be available beginning at 1:00 PM. After school sports practices will begin at 4 PM.

Anyone who ordered an orange shirt from the Indigenous Education Department in support of their "Orange Shirt Awareness" initiative, they are ready to be picked up in the Indigenous Education Department today and tomorrow during school hours. Thank you all for your support!
