Video Recording - 1/09/23 (Tara Pribnow)
Scholarships 101 is an overview of scholarships in general: What are they? What types are there? Where do I find them? Am I eligible? Guest presenter Tara Pribnow is the director of The College Place Minnesota.
Video Recording - 1/09/23 (Kim Hruba)
This presentation provides an overview of Warroad-specific scholarships, especially the Marvin Family scholarships and scholarships administered by the Northwest Minnesota Foundation. Additional topics include understanding our new scholarship page (here), an explanation of community service hours, and the new community service verification form. Please refer to the "Community Service" section below for more information.
Community service is more than just “doing the time” to earn the dollars. It’s an opportunity for students to help their community, engage with community members, and see that they are an integral part of creating and sustaining a thriving community
For scholarship purposes, community service is defined as any activity that serves the community at large. We recognize that the Warroad community as a whole is made up of many smaller communities - faith, sports, activities, nonprofits, cultural groups, etc. - and students are encouraged to get involved in any or all of these spaces. Please review the document "What is Community Service?" for guidelines.
NEW! We've updated our Community Service Verification form with an option to submit online. Printed forms can still be turned in to the High School office. The older verification forms will still be accepted at this time.
