i-Invent Invention Convention Update The Plan to Invent deadline has been extended to Friday, February 28, 2019.The Invention Convention is for K-6 students. Only one person for each invention please. If you and your child would like help in brainstorming invention ideas, and filling out the form, please mark Thursday, February 20, 2020 on your calendar. From 4:00-6:00 p.m. robotics students, will be available to help with the process.You can come at any time within that 2-hour window. Location: Warroad High School Room: 149-Jeremy Culleton Plan to Invent forms should be turned into classroom/homeroom teachers by February 28th. The forms may be picked up from the Warroad Elementary Office, printed off of Schoology, or the Warroad Schools' Website. Once the Plan to Invent forms are turned in, students will need to pick up the Display Directions from the elementary office, or print them off of Schoology, or the Warroad Schools' Website. Displays and models may be brought to the Elementary Media Center, beginning Monday, March 16, 2020. The Invention Convention will take place on Wednesday, March 18, 2020. Judging will take place that morning. The displays, with the judging results, will be available for public viewing from 2:00 p.m.-3:30 p.m. Judging will be by grade level. There will be one Grand Champion for each grade level. Be sure to view the new folder titled: Previous Invention Ideas and the new document titled: Ideas for Young Inventors Happy Inventing!

Boys and Girls Basketball scheduled tomorrow in Bagley is postponed. No make up date has been set.
The girl's basketball game scheduled for tonight in Lancaster has been postponed. It has been rescheduled for Tuesday, February 4th.
Elementary physical education students are learning badminton basics. This lifelong sport is one of many activities enjoyed in the gymnasium throughout the school year!
Warroad boys basketball lose a tough one on the road vs. KCC 76-70. JV boys win 54-17 along with both junior high boys winning as well.
Warroad boys basketball come from behind to beat section opponent Thief River Falls 67 to 57. The JV boys lost in a closely contested game 69 to 57 and C team also lost tonight.
JV boys basketball split over the holiday tournament losing to WCA 45-35 and won against Pelican Rapids 56-32.
UPDATE: Due to potential snow storm the boys basketball game will be moved up to an earlier time tomorrow Dec. 28th. JV game will start at 9am vs. Pelican Rapids and the Varsity game will be at 11am with an opponent yet to be determined.

The Warroad Indian Education Department is proud to invite local Native American Wisdom Keeper Donald Kakaygeesick into the classroom yesterday to share with our students an Ojibwe perspective. Thank you to Mrs. DeFelice and her English 11 class for the invitation. English 11 students study American Literature in their junior year. Their first unit is Native American Literature where the Ojibway, Lakota, and Iroquois creation stories are studied.
Another reminder for all members of the Warroad Community who have an interest in helping to advise the district in curriculum selection. All are welcome to join us for an no-commitment overview meeting tomorrow (12/10) at 6:30 p.m. in the district conference room.
