The Max Foundation is a nonprofit foundation who’s mission is “To raise funds with the intent to support charitable programs, projects, and activities that facilitate mental wellness amongst the youth in the Warroad area”.

On the 11th of September our first project will be taking place. This is a collaborative effort between the Max Foundation, School District 690 and the True North Foundation’s Project 11.

There will be a presentation for grades 9-12 at the Warroad High school starting at 12:55. This presentation is open to the public.

The presenter is Craig Heisinger. Craig is the Assistant General Manager and Director of Hockey Operations for the Winnipeg Jets of the National Hockey League and Senior Vice President of True North Sports and Entertainment. He is also the General Manager of the Manitoba Moose, the American Hockey League affiliate of the Jets.

Throughout the year, Craig Heisinger is invited to speak at various schools, workshops or events

in honor of Rick Rypien. Rypien was a former member of the Manitoba Moose and Winnipeg

Jets who battled with depression. Project 11 was created in Ricks memory.  It is our hope that the Max Foundation along with the help of organizations like True North Youth Foundation’s Mental Wellness program, Project 11 we can end the stigma around Mental Illness.
