Welcome to Mrs. Johnson's Home Page
Welcome to the Resource Room! My name is Mrs. Patti Johnson, and I will be teaching Social Skills grades K-12 here at Warroad Public Schools. This is my tenth year at Warroad Public Schools. I have been working in the Resource Room for these ten years. I am thrilled to be a member of the Resource Room team.
My family, consisting of my husband Jeff of twelve years, sons William (8) and Sullivan (2) and a daughter Sophie (6), have always lived in Warroad. My husband and I were fortunate to grow up in Warroad and could not think of a better place to raise a family.
Having received both my elementary teaching certification and special education licensure from St. Cloud State University and Bemidji State University; I jumped in with both feet into this career and the Warroad Public Schools. This is a jump that was made without looking back. I am very happy with the choice that was made to teach, as there is no greater satisfaction than helping students reach their potential and to see them shine! I realize that teaching your child is a privilege, as well as a tremendous responsibility.
When not teaching I enjoy spending time with my family, traveling, fishing, hockey, reading fiction and non-fiction, watching my kiddos participate in their various activities, listening to music, scrapbooking, and knitting! Keep in mind, these are the things that I like to do. In reality, most of my time after school is devoted to being a taxi cab driver as William and Sophie are active in sports and other activities and have many after school commitments. (Can anyone relate?!?)
There will be many great things to explore this year! The Resource Room will be filled with excitement, enthusiasm, discipline, and dedication, with a promise to further your social and emotional learning. I am honored to take on the task of educating minds, molding character, and assist in building responsible, young adults. As we begin the school year, let me welcome you to a year of fun and growth, as I strive to challenge you in education and life.
Finally, I believe that a good parent-teacher relationship is necessary for maximum school success. Feel free to write a note in the agenda each day, email me, or call 386-6032, and I will call you back. I hope that this gives you a bit of an insight into me and I am looking forward to gaining insight to who you are during this 2011-2012 school year. I can't wait to get started!!!
