Girls Basketball

The 2017-2018 Lady Warriors will be looking to changing the "Culture" of the girls basketball program.  The Lady Warriors basketball teams for 2017-2018 will be made up of 2-seniors, 4-juniors, 3-sophomores, and 4-freshman.  This season will be a long one filled with many ups and downs, but if we stay the course we will be right where we want to be by seasons end. It is not where you start at, but where you finish. We are excited for the challenges in front of us.

A basketball player can come in any size, shape, or color.  There is no common denominator except a love for the game and a desire to get the most out of her abilities.  She is not only proud of her strength, but understands her weaknesses.  She is concerned first with the good of her team and knows that individual recognition will come through team excellence.

A basketball player has the enthusiasm of an evangelist, the discipline of a monk, the heart of a warrior, and never loses the honestly and character of a small girl watching from the sidelines.

She appreciated the support of thousands of fans, but she is much more aware of the example she is setting for some small girls.  She is happy when she scores a basket but never forgets that a teammate threw her the ball.  While she never lets up at either end of the floor, the other team is not the real opponent; it is the full extent of her own potential that she is always playing against.  She lets the referees, with occasional assistance from her coach, do the officiating.

A basketball player is made not born.  She is constantly striving to reach her potential knowing that she will bypass other players who cannot withstand the strain for this quest of excellence.  She realizes that the challenges and competition of today's game will better prepare her for tomorrows world.  She knows that the true measure of her performance is not recorder in wins and losses but in how much of herself she has given to the game.

A basketball player never realizes when the odds are stacked against her.  She can only be defeated by a clock that happens to run out of time.  She is what a small girl wants to become and what an older woman can remember with great pride that she once was.
