Border Area Learning Center
The Border Area Learning Center was established to meet the needs of students who have not or cannot achieve the credits and skills required to receive a high school diploma in the traditional school setting. It is an independent study program designed for those students who: are identified at-risk learners, have fallen behind in satisfactorily completing course work, desire to attend a program which better meets their individual needs, or have dropped out and want to return to complete their high school education.
Our goal is to empower every individual to acquire knowledge, skills, and a positive attitude toward self and others. We provide a success-oriented educational setting where students can finish the requirements for graduation. All students will have an individualized learning plan that will improve their skills and enable them to receive credits needed for graduation. We offer year round programming with flexible hours.
The ALC has full access to all School District #690 support services. When necessary, we incorporate services offered by the Roseau County Social Services Department and work to connect students with other outside resources that we do not have available.
